Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.
This year, under the theme “Everyone Belongs”, students from Hurstville South Public School celebrated Harmony Day by wearing cultural clothing from their country of origin or orange clothing and accessories to show their support for Harmony Day.
Students particpated in the Salaka African Drumming Incursion. The word ‘Salaka’ means ‘sharing’ in the Ga Language of Ghana and through the show students engaged in folk tales and stories, developing their awareness of culture in Africa.
